Its been a while......

I am WAY behind on blogs! Birthdays, christmas, check ups all sorts!
So here is a little taster till i get caught up.....
This last weekend we went to Cinci and saw Peter Pan!
Allister got sick that morning -theres been a tummy bug going around- thankfully he made a speedy recovery and was still able to go.
The anticipation!
Allister lasted till half time, and woke up again just in time to see Captain Hook fight PeterPan.
PeterPan flew a lot which the boys loved!
And Harrison got to sit with Grammy in the front row!
He loved every minute :)

They didn't last long once we got in the car, its was a late night, but so much fun!

The next day Matt and I dragged our bums out of bed around 5am (urgh!)

so Matt could go run the Heart Mini 15k, he came 7th overall and 4th in place, it was freezing, snowy and windy! Last year this race weekend (when I ran) was 65f, what a difference this year! We are all SO ready for spring.

Ill try and update more soon!

Another weekend, another race.

We're getting used to doing races every other weekend in this house!
This weekend Matt ran Strides For Hope.
A 5k with a great cause, supporting Ovarian Cancer.
He didn't manage to win this one, his friend Snuck up behind him at the last minute and beat him by 2 seconds. Second place and a 16:05 5k is not too shabby though right!?
Our support team was out in force!

Doing roll-polys down the hill.

Cheeeeeeeese

Lining up at the start.

And there off!
Some goofy guys where up front trying to have fun, not sure Daddy Matt was amused.

Hay, it's me!
The boys hanging out.
They found THE biggest stick.
LOVE THIS!

Here's daddy!

20 seconds off his PR.

Good job :)

Here's Uncle Jason.

Official Blake Photographer for the day.

Another race in 14 days!

And I'm training for my second Half Marathon!

A fun outdoorsy weekend.

It's been like autumn this last week!
So wonderful!
It's been a long hot summer, so it's been good to get out and enjoy a light breezy day.
After a nice long run this morning we headed to the zoo.
Along with all of Ohio. We got to the parking lot, did a u-turn and chose the park instead! The lot was full, they were parking on the grass. Naaaah no thanks!
After a couple of ours at the park and playing Duck Duck Goose, we went into downtown Dublin and walked to the waterfall and along the river.
It was beautiful. We never used to be able to do a lot of these things, with Little Allister needing a stroller, or to be carried because of his legs getting tired.
This was the view.
Throwing rocks.
Of course.
Guess what these boys are sitting on?
Who knew Dublin Ohio had its only Blarney Stone?

Needless to say the boys are sleeping well.

Daddy

We haven't seen much of Daddy lately. He recently started a new job back in Treasury. He's some important guy now.

Last night was one of the few nights he made it home for dinner and bed time.

The boys enjoyed reading Brave on the iPad together before bed.

And night time snuggles.

We're hoping Daddy's new job doesn't stay this busy for too long, we miss him!

And I don't know how single parents stay sane and have a clean house all at once'

The Zoo.

As always, when we have visitors we head to the zoo!

Here are some pictures from our fun days out.

Allister loved the zip-line! And so did auntie-Julie :)

This flamingo would not leave us alone! I think he thought Auntie-Julie was a flamingo- or maybe a deer?

They opened up a new area called Stingray bay! You get to pet stingray. It's pretty awesome.

Harrison had a dragon painted on his face. He absolutely loved it! I love these pictures :)

We love our zoo days.

Fat pig to Flying Pig.

Remember this?

That was me 8 months pregnant with Harrison in May 2008. Swollen and very VERY big! I went to support Matt while he ran the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon.
Never in a million years did I think that I too would be running, just 4 years later.

But I did it!
It all started in a whim. About 6 months or so ago. Some ladies who I knew only from an online chat room told me they were running the pig. Being new to running I was all interested, then they said "hay you could do it too! ". It all started out as a bit of a joke. But as I got more and more into running it started to seem doable. The turning point was when I could comfortably run 6 miles in 60 minutes and not feel like I'd died. So what the hell, I thought. I'll do it!
And so I trained, and ran my first half marathon.
I met up with Tammy and we hit it off. She ran slower than her usual pace to keep me company the whole way. Along with Matt, who, due to an injury also ran with us.
Who knew that a race could be that much fun? And there was not one point I walked, even the hills I ran. Although the water stations were kind of crowded so you had to walk a little.
Thes daren't in any particular order.

The T-Shirt you get for signing up to run.

Looking happy! These photos are stolen from MarathinFoto.com. Go check them out if you like, I will be purchasing these so they lose the copywright printing.

The 3 of as after the race, I'm on a high!

During the race, the only picture of us 3.

My results. Pretty good for a first I think! I actually ended up running 10 minute miles, because due to the crowds and not running tangents you run a lot further than 13.1 miles. I think I ran like 13.35 or something.

Top 1/3.
Cute medal, front and back.

Happy to be with my boys after the race. And sitting down!

I can't wait to do it all again! The Pig was the perfect first half Marathon. There was crowd support the whole way, the goodies are awesome, the weather was great. The hills were not.

I think I got the bug.

Hope to see another half marathon from me in the fall :)
