Allister in his crib :)

I have been putting Allister to nap more and more in his bedroom. Harrison just makes too much noise and disturbs him.
He still sleeps by my bed at night, I love having him close :)

We need to work on getting Allister some sort of routine, its so much harder to do when your busy running around after Harrison! I know he'll be happier in a routine, the days we manage it he naps longer and is happier, things are much more laid back with number 2.
We'll get there eventually!

Don't worry the soft toys have now been moved!

Another Allister video.....

Allister is already close to rolling from his back to his tummy!

Don't forget you need to go to YouTube or my blogger page to view a video :)

Finally caught on camera!

I finally managed to catch Allister rolling over, 3 times in a row!
He's such a strong boy :)
(I know I keep saying that!)
He first rolled over at 4 weeks the first time, so he's now a pro'!

Allister's first illness

Poor little Allister has an eye infection.
His left eye started to look goopy yesterday, and this morning it was crusty and watering. It doesn't seem to be bothering him, but we have antibiotic drops to put in. The doctor said he could have a blocked tear duct, which is very common in newborns, and to just keep his eye clean and it will correct itself on its own.
It will make him more susceptible to eye infections though.

He weight 16lb 6oz i think?

Allister update.

Allister is getting such a personality now its adorable.
He did his first little giggle for me yesterday, i love this phase, in fact I love them all! I am enjoying them all the more now knowing how fast they go buy, and knowing what fun is to come.

He is reaching lots of milestones now...

He can lift his head and shoulders right off the floor during tummy time.
He rolls over from his tummy still.
He is reaching out to bat at things as he recently discovered he has hands!
This has led to his finger and thumb sucking!
He also will stare at his hands as if he's thinking "Wow, look what I got!"
Hes wearing size 3-6 or 6 months clothes.

He is now sleeping a whole 5 or 6 hours a night, so therefore is only getting up once to feed. This is AWESOME! He even went 6 1/2 hours the other night! Hes been doing this a little over a week, so we are now pretty much down to 6 feeds a day and one at night. So much more manageable! He's a quick eater now too! We are done in 10-15 minutes, when you think you can spend 4 or 5 hours a day nursing in the beginning and now we are down to under 2 its amazing how much more free time you get!

Allister is starting to fall into some sort of schedule, with more predictable awake and sleep times. In fact this morning he was looking sleepy, so I laid him in his crib for the first time, and turned on his mobile. He was asleep in 10 minutes! All by himself! Anyone who has a newborn understands what a big feat that is, to just lay a baby down and for him to get himself to sleep is something most parents can only dream of. Lets hope its not a fluke!
I think my "I love to sleep" genes must be very strong!
I'm hoping this means sleep training and sleeping through the night will be as easy with Allister as it was with Harrison, no Cry It Out in this house!

Thats all for now!

Allister's first bottle.

I finally pumped some breast milk so we could give Allister a bottle. I was hoping we hadn't left it too late, there's many a breastfed baby who wont take a bottle! But he downed it like a champ, so now i'm free to leave Daddy with his boys all day!

6 weeks old :)

Where did the last 6 weeks go! Allister is 6 weeks old today. He's
such a good baby, i seriously can't believe how good he is (touches wood).
He sleeps all night just waking to feed and most of the day still. He
is alert a couple of times a day, only about an hour each time.

Daddy managed to get him to laugh a couple of times last week, he
likes to dance apparently. He only smiles for me in his sleep.

He rarely cries (touches wood again!) and will put himself to sleep at
night after his feed. We have had zero accounts of rocking and pacing
and walking to calm a cranky baby, yes zero. And we thought Harrison
was good! Everyone said you only get one good baby, I guess we lucked out :0)

He still has all his dark hair, and is almost out of 0-3 month
clothes, separates still fit but anything with feet or poppers is just about done.

Harrison is starting to realize Allister is for keeps. He is a little
more jealous, trying to force hugs on me when I nurse. He's also been
a little more demanding and has had a few tantrums, but I guess that's
to be expected at this age anyhow. He will now kiss and hug his baby
brother, and for the most part is an absolute angel. He's learning to
wait and except boundaries too, like not running off at the park.

I'm finding being a mum of 2 relatively easy so far. I have learned to
re-prioritize things. Laundry and cleaning can wait, my boys care more
about having some fun than a clean house. Not that the house doesn't
get clean, it's just not as clean as before!

Here's Allister on his 6 week birthday.

Allister's one month check up - He's a BIG boy!

We took Allister for his one month check up today.
He is HUGE!
Weight :- 12lb 61/2 oz (97th percentile)
Height:- 22 3/4 inches (90th percentile)
Head 36cm (70th percentile)

What a big boy! The doctor said he's like a 2 month old already, and don't I know it feeding him every 2 hours most of the day! Harrison was still only 12lb31/2 at 8 weeks, and an over an inch less tall, so his baby brother may end up bigger than him.
He got one shot, and is doing great with holding his head up and being alert. He has a bit of reflux, but we have chosen not to medicate him right now, if it gets worse we will, but right now he is doing OK with natural remedies.
