He's doing everything he should be and more, a chatter -box and an adorable little boy!

He loves to play with his big brother, here he is with some Play Mobiles :)
They both love to play on the PlayStation on weekends.

He loves DressUp!

And being silly.

His favorite colour is currently pink.

He loves chocolate milk and PBJ.

He still likes to climb in bed with mummy and daddy most nights.

He will be starting in the Dublin Peer program in september, 4 mornings a week.

We love him so much!

First Dentist Appointment.

Allister had his first dentist appointment today.

He did AWESOME! The dentist managed a full clean, fluoride and check up. He laid there and let them do everything needed.

No cavities for both boys! Woot!

Here he is all smiles lol.

This was Harrison's third time at the dentist. This time he got to see the hygienist. She was wonderful and patient! He had a full clean, Floride and check. He kept telling her he was done, he didn't like the spin brush, but he managed just fine.

He was very tense at his last two appointments and very relaxed this time. He's doing better with noises. He's growing up!

Allister also had a haircut today, here he is wanting in the chair like a big boy :)

We will be back in 6 months!

Allister update.

Allister is 2 1/2! Can you believe it?
It's been awhile since we had an update in the little guy, so here goes.
He loves peanut butter straight from the tub just like daddy.
He also would eat PBJ at every meal if I let him.
Here he is "helping me " make a PB bagel!
The boys both love to dress up.

All day every day they are pirates, knights, magicians, doctors. The works :)

He loves to wrestle with his brother and daddy. And jump on them!

He LOVES his moms day out!

Like really really loves it.

He gets so excited to go, and has a blast. All the teachers adore him, because who wouldn't.

He is enthusiastic about all the art project and songs. It's very cute.

This Guitar is getting lots of use lately. He and Harrison take turns with the mic and guitar!

Some other news.

He still climbs into bed with mummy and daddy about 80% of the time.

He loves to be throw tantrums! Yes the terrible twos have hit :) big time!

He will scream and flay and all sorts, it quite amusing.

He LOVES animals. Especially cats. And always wants to visit Janet's house becasue she has some!

He loves his cuddly toys, his favorites are Ducky, Doggie and Time Out Bear.

If you ask him certain questions he will always answer "NO! My Allister!" this is his standard response for questions like- Are you tired? Are you hungry? Are you grumpy? etc.

He's about 90% potty trained! Yay! He will stay dry about 90% of the time, he just won't ask to go all the time yet. But he will hold it for like 4 hours which is great at his young age. He doesn't always get his number twos in yet either, but he is so close to being done. He's been in big boy pants since about July.

He and Harrison chit and chat all day long! It's so cute to listen to. they play together so sweetly, they do, of course, still fight, but it's not that often.

His favorite food is Peanut Butter. He still loves Pirate everything and loves to play with cars right now too! His favorite book is Llama Llama Mad at Mama. He knows it by heart and we take turns to read lines. His favorite part is when Little Llama get mad, and Allister likes to imitate him.

He's wearing mostly 3T now, but still fits some of his 2T. His shoes are size 9. I think he may be a little shorter than Allister at this age?

Anyhow, there's a little update on Chumble 2.

:)

Allister's first week at Moms Day Out.

Allister had an AWESOME first week at Moms Day Out. He loved every single second!
He was so ready for this :)
I didn't get very good photos, I used my iPhone, and he was being grumpy because he just wanted to leave.
But here he is ready to get out the door.

And being stroppy in the car.
Some art work, he was all excited to show me!

And one very tired boy!

The first day I dropped him off he didn't even say goodbye. No hug, kiss, nothing.

This boy just went and had fun! Same again today.

He been peeing on the potty, and having a blast!

Another update coming soon.

First day at Pre-K.

Today was Harrison's first day at Pre-K.
He was so excited he got dressed without a fight and even brushed his teeth.
That's big for a 4 year old, believe me.
Here he is all set for his day!

Being goofy.
All smiles on the road!
Smiles turn to frowns as Harrison's get out the car :(
At Pre-K drop off the teachers come to the car so all the parents don't have to park and take each child in.
This was a big change for little Allister and he was all worried about his big brother wondering off to a strange place with a new teacher.
It almost sent Harrison into tears, but I told him to be brave, and he asked "why?".
I told him Because your going to have a fun day, and he smiled right away and all was forgotten!
We kissed goodbye and off he went!
Here he is with his 2 teachers helpers and out friend and his classmate Isra, he's holding hands with Carter I believe.

After school he jumped in the car. The teacher said he had a good Day, but for once Harrison wasn't particularly chatty!

Weird I know.

He told me everything he did today was a secret. His new favorite word. Along with stupid.

Yeah I know.

Anyhow, at bedtime we snuggled after stories, as usual, and this is what I managed to get out of his day.

He played outside after it stopped raining, and then it rained again.

He had a story about a frog and a crocodile and the frog hopped away.

He only had 2 more minutes left to eat his snack, so didn't get to eat all his goldfish. He did however eat his carrots and tangerine.

They sang a goodbye song. To each child by name.

He explained about the Green light, Yellow light, Red light reward system. Red makes the teacher sad.

He didn't get to stay for lunch, and wondered why the other kids did. (I explained that those kids had some special needs and needed some extra lessons to help them.)

He didn't get to play on the computer today.

So that pretty much summed up his day! We're off to a curriculum night on Thursday so watch this space.

All In all I think we've all had a great first day :)

Pre-school.

On Tuesday Harrison will start Pre-school. Like proper Pre-school.

Not just a moms day out program.

He's will be attending Bailey Elementary in Dublin as a peer. What that means is around 50% off the class will have special needs, and the other kids are peer models. Or average ability kids.

He will go mon-fri 8:45-11:30.

Harrison's class will have 9 children aged 3-5. All the peers are 4, the majority of the class is 4/5.

The class has 4 children with learning delays, all are on the autistic spectrum, varying in degree of delay.

Harrison's teacher will be Miss Kellie and her assistant Miss Debbie. They also have a 3rd teacher who will work between 2 classrooms. There is a speech therapist also who works with all the children each day.

It's is a GREAT program. For both average kids and special needs. The kids with special needs learn to model some of their behaviors from the average kids, and the average ability kids get excellent teaching in a small group. They learn empathy,how to be patient with people who are not the same as them and how to help others and be caring. Along with the regular things a Pre-schooler will learn like days of the week and his alphabet of course!

Harrison is so excited to be starting Tuesday! Even more so because his friend Isra just so happens to be in the same class.

The lady at the back of the class in the stripy skirt is Miss Kellie. She seems wonderful and has recently transferred to this school from a school that specialized in teaching kids with Autism.

Harrison's sat next to one of his new friends, on one of the 3 brand new Mac computers the class room has.

Harrison testing out the playground that will be shared with his class and one other.

We have a curriculum night next week where we hope to find out a lot more about his new school!

In the mean time, wish Harrison luck for his first day on Tuesday.

And wish me luck trying to get everyone out of the door for 8:20am.

Harrison's 4 year update.

Back in June Harrison went for his 4 year check up.

I don't think I blogged about it!

Here are his stats.......

Height 43 3/4 "

Weight 52lb

They didn't measure his head anymore. His BP was 98/48

He's doing everything he should. No problems. He's still a big boy for his age, and off the percentage charts in both height and weight.

He just graduated to his first size 1 shoes!

He is wearing size 6 clothes, but they are getting small! Oh my!

Next year he gets to go to proper Pre-school!

He starts at Dublin City Schools. Bailey Elementry Pre-school peer program. It's a 5 day a week Pre-school and it's 8:45-11:30. Notnsure how we are all going to get out of the house for 8:30 every day!

The peer program is a subsidized system so 50% of the school is for special needs or delayed kids. Some are speech delayed, delayed motor skills, autism spectrum stuff like that.

So Harrison is one of the peers - or average ability kids. They've found it helps both special needs and average ability children to be in a mixed class. And the class sizes are small! 8-10 to a class. I've heard a lot of good things about this program, and it will be a great start for him.

Next year he gets to go to kindergaten.

Scary!

4 years olds are a lot of fun. Seriously.

He is hilarious and has developed a true sense of humor. He laughs in all the right places in movies, will play a game and understand the rules, he loves to play make believe. Both our boys have awesome imaginations!

He won't eat a sandwich. It's annoying, he decided he doesn't like them.

His favorite colors are blue and green.

His favorite food is Probably soft salted pretzels. And chocolate and candy of course ;0)

He loves super heroes and Harry Potter.

He loves DocMcStuffins, Peppa Pig and Jake and the Netherlands pirates.

He loves to be told stories. Made up -with him staring in them.

He wakes at 6:30 am sharp almost. Every. Single. Day.

We are still learning to sleep dry at night, but we are getting there!

He is >this< Close to being able to swim. He's doing great :)

He loves to snorkel.

He loves to play dress up.

We love our 4 year old!

Family Movie Night.

Today, for the first time, we went to a movie as a family! It was Allister first time, and we had a blast!

We went to see a new movie called The Pirates! Band of Misfits.

It's a Wallace and Gromit type movie, very English.

It wasn't very long, so it was a good choice for his first movie, seeing as he's only just 2.

He sat through the whole movie, popcorn and toy in hand. not once did he getup from his seat. He did say "all done" about 20 minutes from the end, but still watched in awe.

The fun part about the boys growing up is we can do many more things like this :)

Allister's 2 year check.

Allister had his 2 year well check last week.

He's a big boy like his brother! It funny because I thought he was going to be more average height, but apparently he too is off the charts in height. I guess I'm just used to his big brother!

Height - 37" greater than 97%

Weight 31lb 87%

Head 19.3cm 60%

So once again we have a tall boy. He's doing everything he should and more. Talking up a storm! Jumping, counting. He's learning his colors, shapes and numbers. Everything is red or purple :)

Here are some adorable photos of him after a recent nap and a funky hairstyle he woke up with.

Harrison the big boy.

Here's a little update on our big boy!

The Binky Fairy finally decided to visit!

Hallelujah I hear you say ;)

The only reason the Binky (meaning dummy, or pacifier!) stayed around so long was because of naps. Any time we took it away, Harrison stopped napping. And he SO needed a nap! Now, not so much. He pretty much only naps when he's had a very late or very early morning. Like today! Right now he's asleep because he woke up at 3am and then 5am. But it probably only happens once every week or two. So we figured if he's not napping, we may as well ditch the Binky.

So we had been talking about the Binky Fairy for a very long time! He wanted a Rescue Heroes Fire Truck in return for giving the binky to the Binky fairy. For those who don't know, the Binky Fairy takes the binkys to give to newborn babies who need them! She leaves a gift in return.

So on wednesday February 22nd the Binky fairy came, and we haven't looked back! Harrison was so excited to get his truck, and slept fine that first night. And when he woke up in the morning and got his truck he was shaking with excitement! We had a few tears over the next few days, saying he no longer wanted the truck, but the Binky instead. And when Grammy and Pooh-Bah kindly sent a fun congrats letters and money for ice cream,he said he wanted to give the money to the fairy to get his Binky back lol! So funny. He since changed his mind though and after 3 or 4 days hasn't mentioned the Binky at all! Yay!

Harrison is growing like a weed! He is around 47lb, that's clothed though at his last docs visit. So probably more like 45lb in the buff. And around 43 1/2 " as measured by me! He is fast growing out of his 5T jeans, and wearing 6/7 size shirts, 12 1/2 size shoe. When I look at him now, I wonder where my baby went! He just seems so big!

Some funny things he has said lately....

Me- why are you in the bathroom Harrisons?

H- I'm looking at mY beautiful eyes!

Me- oh. Do I have beautiful eyes too?

H- No you have dark eyes, I can see right through mine!

~~~
While I'm changing the bed in his room.
H- I love the smell of clean laundry!
~~~

H- what would happen if you had no arms, legs or head?

Me- hahahahahahahahaha

~~~~~~
3 1/2 year olds are hilarious!
Harrison has also been in a bit of a no phase lately. Asserting his own will, not in a good way!
He has been saying he doesn't want to come to dinner, go to school, eat breakfast etc etc. In fact a while back he didn't want to go to school so bad he cried for like 2 weeks! I'm glad that's over with.
Harrison has been wearing pull ups at night. And sometimes even soaking them through. He was actually dry at night around 2 1/2 but then regressed, so we went back to pull ups. Being so young we still have plenty of time to get dry. But now Harrison wants to wear underpants to bed, but has only been dry 1 night out of 7. He doesn't tend to wet at night, just doesn't get out of bed first thing in the morning so wakes up soaked. I'm not pushing this either way, he'll be ready when he's ready. And If he wants to wear underpants I'll just do laundry! So be it.
His favorite things lately are pretzels! Soft bread type ones, or yogurt covered ones.
Anything Star Wars especially light sabers!
He has decided he doesn't like PBJ any more, it's too messy. Where did my kid go? Oh and syrup. He shed to love that, kids have funny eating habits, they'll love something and eat it everyday then just decide they don't anymore.
He can spell his name and type it out. He can write some letter, and is getting better at drawing.
He loves to say " I love hot food." weird huh.
He's adorable and challenging at the same time. There are so many things I love about this age. Holding down a conversation with your child is the most amazing thing ever. I never new how intelligent kids were at this age either. I'm amazed at how much he knows and how quick he learns.
He and Allister chat to each other all the time now. Its so sweet to watch.
That's all for now! I still have some super old topics to catch up on, finding time to get them written down is hard. But in September I'll have both boys in pre-school for a total of 7 hours a week. I have this image in my mind that it's all the time in the world, my house will be spotless and organized and I'll have time to do crafts, shop, write and stuff.
Leave me be in my ignorance please :)
Allister update.
 Our little baby is not quite a baby anymore!
Here's a little update on him.
He's a proper little chatterbox just like his big brother. He's using so many worlds we've lost count; 3 and 4 word sentences are the norm. 5 and 6 word sentences are happening more and more often. Its truly amazing to be able to hold a conversation with a not even 2 year old and it's such a wonderful thing! An example of some of his sentences-
 "Cat fall down mummy!"
"Guinness eat it food mummy."
He is so cheeky and happy, but the terrible twos are definitely starting to creep in! Luckily you find a lot more humor in the stroppiness and tantrums second time round. He has this "shy" look and this "naughty" look that are adorable. I'll catch them on camera for you! He is a pro at throwing himself on the floor when you say now. And screaming.
He idolizes his big brother. They play together so sweetly now its heart warming. Allister will copy his brother all the time, and no longer wants to use his booster seat, always use a knife and fork, says "I don't like that" and "my turn!" just like a 3 year old.
His favorite toys and shows are now Peter Pan and anything pirate related. Toy Story is  so last year you know.  Lol. Not really, he still loves Woody and Buzz and will watch Toy Story. He also loves The Incredlibles movie.
He is not a picky eater! I'm so glad, I am not sure I would deal well with that. And even though he exclaims "don't like that" it's just a copy cat move. He eats pretty much anything, just like his brother. Even Chilli!
See.
 It's probably time to potty train. Urgh.
We still talk a lot about the potty, and making it in time. He pretty much grew up watching Harrison learn how to use the toilet. And because of Harrison's busy bee nature, he still has accidents. So making it to the potty in time is a common subject round these parts. I guess that spured the his requests to sit on the potty. He will sit, and actually pee on command. So he knows how to hold it, and go when he needs. He can talk, so therefore express the need to go, so there's not really any reason not to! I'll keep you posted. He will start Pre-school (play group, nursery school, whatever you call it in England!) in Septemeber and be 2 1/2 then so I think it would be great to have both boys out on nappys by then!
 He will be 2 next month! They'll be a party on the weekend on March 9th, I'll let you know when soon. We will be keeping it simple this year, because in future there won't be so much opportunity to! With the boys having more and more say in there big day. I'll soon have a 2 and a 3 year old. Wow!
Allister gives the sweetest kisses. That's when he's not trying to lick you. Or bite you.
He loves super heroes, star wars, cuddly toys, bananas  and sleeping in mummy and daddies bed. We will work on that last one sometime soon!
Drawing.
I think it's so funny how some milestones appear out of the blue. On second they can't do something, then BAM they can! Last week we took Harrison to a new pre-school to see if it was a good fit. And one of the things they had them do was draw. Harrison has been drawing faces a while, but not people. You know, the tadpole people with looooong legs and a fat body.
This morning, while scribbling on my iPad, he drew a tadpole person out of the blue. Here they are. Some of the drawings have backgrounds because you can load a photo in the background on the app.
This is a drawing of Grammy.
This is an Angry Bird.
This is Allister.
This is Daddy. Note his very long legs that go up past his head. Lol.
 And mummy :)
