What Harrison got up to for his Birthday -Part One

My Birthday lasted for days! First I got some cool gifts.
Apparently there's more of these to come.....

Mummy and Daddy helped me open my gifts,
I liked laying with the paper.......

I played with my new toys lots!

We had ice cream cake with candles
and everyone sang Happy Birthday to ME!

That made me very happy.

As you can see I didn't like the cake much ;O)

Mummy and Daddy got me a cool table so I can start to draw and
also so I can sit with my friends!
The table converts into a drawing easel.
They also got me books and balls.

Then Grammy and Pooh-Bah took us all to Kings Island!
We stood in line FOREVER to go on a cool helicopter ride.
Grammy said it was hot in line and it was the longest que in the whoooooole place!

I had lots of fun.....

I also went on a carousel, and helped everyone eat their ice cream.
The next day we went to the aquarium!

That was cool! There were BIG sharks and lots of funny jellyfish.

Then when I got home I ate take-out curry for dinner for the first time.
It was YUMMY I like the chicken and poppadoms best,
with the funny lime green coriander chutney.
Mummy and Aunt Jules said I was weird cos they don't like it :-)

I then opened lots more gifts and cards in my diaper as my clothes had curry on them.
Mummy said that she will be having fun with those.

And that is my First birthday so far. Next Saturday I get to have a party and more cake, balloons and stuff. I cant wait!
Love Harrison
xx

What a difference a day (or two) make.......

So we finally got rid of the yukky salmon colour on the house trim, which looks 10 times worse in real life than in this photo! And the green shutters.

Kisses and Teeth!

Harrison now does the cutest thing when you ask for a kiss and blow kissing noises at him....
He will gently bend his head to the side so you can kiss the top of his head, its adorable! I'm guessing he learned this because he gets lots and lots of kisses.

Finally the slowest growing teeth in the whole history of teething have come through! The top 4 teeth have been taking their pretty time making an appearance. So now he has hi top left, top right and next left. We are just waiting for the other one to be in and he will have his top 4! I'm glad I am weaning, well due to the teeth but its actually kind of sad too.

Count Down.........

So, I am counting days right now.
2 days till Auntie Jules arrives for 4 whole weeks! Yipppeeeeee
And 5 short days till my baby boy turns into a big boy and has a first birthday!
9 Days until Harrison's Elmo birthday party.

Poor baby booboo's

Its been a tough week for poor baby Harrison :-(

Firstly, he hurt his mouth. I had just finished brushing his teeth, and then was getting him undressed for his bath. He stood up and grabbed his toothbrush and ran away. He fell over, I think with the toothbrush in his mouth. He screamed, I picked up the poor little naked baby and he was bleeding from his mouth :-( It BROKE my heart! I panicked and ran downstairs screaming we had to take him to Urgent Care! With the help of a torch (or flash light as you guys here call it, I didn't use a flame!) and a plastic spoon I managed to get a good look inside his mouth, he had poked or bitten the inside of his cheek. Anyway he calmed down pretty quick and the bleeding stopped so Matt managed to persuade me rushing off to the hospital may be an overreaction. Even so, I checked on him every 10 minutes while he was napping, just in case.
The next day he had a little lump on his cheek, but he has been fine. Hes such a trooper!

Then on Wednesday he got Lassoed by Guinness's tether! He is the second casualty of Guinness's tether in 2 weeks (it was my turn last time and I had a massive bruise on my leg to show for it) Harrison was wondering the grass outside and Guinness was merrily wandering round too. Then out of the blue Guinness bolted (I guess he saw a ball, bird or bunny?) and Harrison was in the way! I freaked, again, and Harrison was caught on the side of his neck and fell down. It could have been SO MUCH worse! Poor poor baby, my heart skipped a beat and I felt sick for ages! We WILL be buying an electric fence now, we are not allowed to put up a real fence. I cant have this happen again. Anyway, Harrison is fine, thankfully, and just has a little scrape on his neck.

Lets hope these things really don't come in threes, my heart wont take much more!

The word I hear most often.....

The other word must mean camera or something as he says it every time I have the camera out! And the squinty face he pulls is because he thinks the flash is going to go off.

This now has the right video with it!

Lawnmower troubles

Nana, Grandad and Evan got Harrison a lawnmower at Easter. He's been playing with it now and then like all his other toys.

All of a sudden the lawnmower seemed to be causing some problems, I'm not sure exactly what.

See the beginning of this video Harrison throws himself on the floor in frustration? Its been happening allot with the lawnmower right now, so it must a real big problem to be that dramatic!

I hope he figures it out soon, i dont want to have to call a repairman.

Animal sounds.

Harrison loves to make animal noises. I have some of them on video...........
So far he says "ooh oooh oooh" for Monkey, "Roaaar" for Lion, "ooof ooof ooof" for dog and a word I cant write for Elephant! He says "up" all the time and also trys to say "open" because he has an Easter egg from his Easter egg hunt that opens and closes. Cute! All animals and anything furry is still a "Gah" for Guinness though.

Harrisons amazing brain!

Without meaning to sound like I am bragging all about my baby, I am just so amazed every single day by him. He learns something new every day, to me he is still this little new born baby who can barely lift his head and grab a finger. Now he is a whole little person with his own personality, his own demands and his own thoughts.
Just the other day we were in the car and he was starting to get frustrated sitting in his car seat (he gets frustrated any time he cant get up and walk around) and so I started singing some mummy songs. I got to Twinkle Twinkle, a song I rarely sing, and he starts doing the open and closed hands sign for "star". It seems like you show him something once and the next day he trys to do it all by himself.
Watching your little boy (or girl) grow and learn is truly the most exciting and wonderful blessing a parent has.

Remind me of this when he turns 13 ;O)

Harrisons First Ball Game.

Christy and Jon were kind enough to give us their Columbus Clippers tickets this weekend (Thank you guys!) So Harrison got to enjoy his first Baseball Game right here in Columbus. I was a perfect day for it, and we had lots of fun. The only trouble was Harrison lost his shoe on the way there (we luckily found it on our way back to the car!) and he throws a tantrum if he cant run around now, he says "up up up". He wants to be on his feet the whole time.......
Here's some pics

Good job I had no plans today.,........

As my baby is sleeping the whole day away!
On a typical morning Harrison wakes up around 6:30-7am, he then plays in his crib a little while and then I go get him. After playing, breakfast, nursing and bathies he then takes a nap around 9:30-10am.
This morning he slept in a little so I put him down for his nap at 10am. He didn't want to nap though so he played a while and I listened to him on the monitor. After about 45 minutes (will this child ever nap???) Harrison decides to play the "If I throw my Bunny out of my crib Mummy will come Game". After 3 or 4 rounds of this, he gives in and goes to sleep, its around 11am by now.
Well he is still asleep. I have checked on him 1000 times, yes he is breathing and he seems happy! Just sleepy..........its now 3:52pm. I have cleaned the whole house, chatted to Auntie Jules and Grammy, caught up on emails but I know the moment I get the ironing board out he will wake up. He will also be starving hungry as he slept so long!

Fountain Fun

This weekend went to Easton Town Center. Its a nice place to walk around and shop. There is also some water fountains for the kids to play in. We decided to let Harrison have a go, thinking he was probably a little small to enjoy it with the big kids.
Boy were we wrong!

And heres a video.......

Elmo Rocks!

Monkey Business.

This is Harrison this morning in his new Monkey pj's.
He loves monkeys.
He loved them at the zoo.
He loves the little monkey on his Little People Zoo which goes oohoohooh
(or however you spell monkey noises!)
He loves them in books........he even says "oohoohooh" himself now, which is very cute!

This is how we nap.....

When we are sick. That's my bed and my leg which I couldn't move for
an hour yesterday.

Musician in the making?

When we were last at Grammy and Pooh-Bahs Harrison had a tinkle on the piano, he loved it.

Speaking of Grammy, Happy Birthday!
We love you!

Poor sick baby :o(

Harrison has a bad cold and an ear infection........it is so sad to see him unhappy and in pain!
I caught a cold -I am guessing from the sniffle sniffle lady who served me at Kroger, even though I slathered myself in hand sanitiser the minute I got in the car, anyway I digress- over the weekend and I managed to give it to Harrison. After lots of sniffles, a fever, grumpiness and ear pulling off to the Doctor we went today. And now he is on antibiotics and sleeping (and snoring!). I hope he feels better soon.
Oh and he is also getting one of those other teeth just to make it worse!

Imitation.

For the first time today Harrison tried to copy what grown ups do! He
grabbed my hair brush and tried to brush his hair. Very cute!

Happy 11 months Harrison!

Harrison spent a whole day carrying around my moisturising cream!
