Teeth!

Allister now has a total of 8 teeth! He got 4 this last week, and is now working on his 2 incisors. They are right there ready to burst through, and they are very painful! So nobody got much sleep last night till the Tylenol kicked in.
Let shop they are done today!

Lots of little blogs lately, I'm a busy bee :)

Teeth.

Allister is getting a ton of teeth right now!
I am happy to say (Knock on wood) he is handling it pretty well, especially compared to the last lot!
He just had 2 top teeth break through adjacent to his middle ones. And one bottom. I see his incisors too, I feel like he is getting all the rest in one fail swoop.
Which is fine by me!
Bring on the toothy grin :)

Teeth.

Allister is such a good baby, and such a bad teether!
Oh My!
He is getting all his top teeth right now, its hard to take a picture, but you can just see one little white tip breaking through.
He has barely napped.
Or slept.

Last night I went to bed at 9pm so I could catch up on some sleep, as soon as my head hit the pillow, wahaaahhhh he was awake and crying.
Fast forward 11:45pm I am back in bed.
He then wakes up almost every 2 hours during the night, crying.
I am hoping that all these teeth will come at once and we can all return to sleeping.

Sleep- Or lack of.

The boys have been waking up super early of late. Harrison, until yesterday, was getting up at 5am, or even earlier!
All the boys have had colds for a few weeks now, and Harrison has had a bad cough, which is only just improving. I think thats why he's not been sleeping great. So with Allister teething and waking up around 3am, or like last night, 1am, 2am, 3am, 5am I am pretty tired!
At least Harrison seems to be back to normal and getting up around 6:30 or later again, I am thankful for that! Once Allister's top teeth come through (they are RIGHT there!) I am hoping to get some sleep again, I am not a very good tired person. I have zero patience, and am a complete grumpy bum.
You really do forget how little sleep you get that first year. I don't mind the early wake-up call if only I can get some rest during the night! When Harrison was teething I could catch up later in the day, so if he was up all night I would nap when he had his morning nap. But with Harrison around its impossible, and I have (or feel like I have) so much to do I resist napping in the afternoon, its the only time I have a kidless hour or so. Add to that the fact that Matt is working all hours, we are all pretty tired in this house right now!
At least theres an end in sight.......Matts work shcdeule will calm down after the middle of next week, and those teeth better be here soon or I will go crazy!

More teeth!

Allister is getting his second bottom tooth, it just broke through the gum this weekend.
He also has his first cold and so has been up 2 or 3 times a night. I forgot how little sleep you get the first year with teething, nursing and sick babies!
I look forward to the days when I have to drag my boys out of bed in the morning, but don't quote me on that in 10 years time :)

We are off on vacation on Sunday! Matt is running the Columbus Marathon in the morning, then its a looong drive for us! Any tips with the boys would be great.
I'm excited for the beach.

Harrison update.

Harrison is doing great after his broken bone. He still wont wear his brace, but it doesn't seem to be bothering him! The doctors and his teachers were all surprised at how well he is moving about, especially considering how he has an actual break not just a little crack.
Trouble is, because he isn't too bothered by it I cant seem to prevent him from climbing! He has been climbing over all the furniture this morning and I have been constantly telling him not too. When Harrison is tired or hurts (like teething) he goes a bit hyper, i guess that's how he deals with it. So he has been more active than normal! He was climbing on Allister's swing earlier and just as I was saying get down or you'll fall on your owie, he did. And it hurt of course!
This boy needs a tether!

We have a follow up appointment next week with our doctor.

Speaking of teething, Harrison has cut his last tooth!!! Yipee!
His final 2 year molar is half way through then we are done till he's like 6!

First Tooth!

Allister is getting his first tooth!
He woke up screaming the last 2 nights around 1am, so I just knew something was up! He never cries, if he wakes up in the night he normally just coos and makes noises.
He was also off his food a little yesterday, so I take a look and sure enough, there is the bottom tooth just poking through!
Poor little Allister has been in a lot of pain today, crying and fussing, which is so so unlike him.
But that's OK, only another 2 years or so of teething and were done right!

You can just see the first one popping in on the left of the photo, I'm sure the right one is on its way! Lets hope he gives up biting me now.

And now it all makes sense....

The terrible two's can be oh so very terrible!

Harrison been very hard work the last couple of weeks. Super hyper behavior.
He trashed his room again, climbing on top of his dresser, removing all the things from his shelf. This is a photo of how it looked when we did his room, and recently he had 2 Paddington Bears on top of the box's.
Well, they're no longer there, he cleared the whole shelf, the box's too, and undressed both Paddington's, also removing their tags.

And this picture of Harrison's name is no longer on the wall.
the bed rail is no longer on the bed, he would just swing on it and so the mattress would end up on the floor.

Matt and I were beginning to wonder if this boy would ever calm down again!

And then, yesterday Harrison missed his nap, he also woke up crying a few times last night. Something he hasn't done in ages!
And that's when it twigged....I had an Ah-Ha moment as Oprah would say.
TEETH!
Yup, low and behold he is cutting his bottom right molar.
Whenever Harrison is teething he turns into a tornado!
He puts the phrase "Terrible Twos" to shame.
So, he has had some ibuprofen today, and a trip to the park to get out some energy. I'm hoping the last 2 molars come quick!
I cant wait to get my happy baby back :)

Sentences

Harrison has been saying a few sentences here and there, 3 or 4 words long.

Today he said "Ooops, oh no, broke it!"

He didn't actually break anything, he says broke it sometimes when things don't appear quite right, and sometimes for reasons I don't know! What goes on in a 19 months old brain is sometimes a mystery.
Ill try and remember more sentences, but I keep forgetting to write them down!

Harrison's pointy teeth seem to be finally through!
Hallelujah!
I know I've said this a million times, but he seriously is the slowest teether in the world! They started to come down way before Christmas and the final one of four is just now poking through the gum now. They have been traumatic for everyone :)
Now we get a break till 2 year molars!
Hurrah!

17 Months.

Harrison turned 17 months today. He's almost a year and a half old!

He said his first "sentence" yesterday. Or at least two words together
anyway....and what did he say you ask!?
"Hot tea!"
Cute and oh so English!

Harrisons getting his pointy teeth right now and has not been sleeping
or napping as well as usual. We have been doing lots if snuggling on
the couch.

Almost there!

This teething business is sloooooow!
I got a torch (or flash light for those of you who think I may be taking a naked flame to my son) and shone it inside Harrison's mouth yesterday and I could see 3 of the 4 one year moles have broken through his gums. Just one to go! His other bottom front side tooth has also broken the gum, so after this bout of teething I think we are done till 2 year molars?
Yippee!

Edited to add- I forgot about the canines....gah!

More teeth.

Just when I thought we had a teething break as the top 4 teeth have only just finished coming in, we have more teeth!
Harrison has had a few nights of disturbed sleep the last few days, waking up crying a few times but going back to sleep ok. I thought it was nightmares.
Well this morning I realized his molars are cutting through! I can feel the one on his top left so I guess were in for a few more troubled nights in the next few weeks as the rest break in.

Kisses and Teeth!

Harrison now does the cutest thing when you ask for a kiss and blow kissing noises at him....
He will gently bend his head to the side so you can kiss the top of his head, its adorable! I'm guessing he learned this because he gets lots and lots of kisses.

Finally the slowest growing teeth in the whole history of teething have come through! The top 4 teeth have been taking their pretty time making an appearance. So now he has hi top left, top right and next left. We are just waiting for the other one to be in and he will have his top 4! I'm glad I am weaning, well due to the teeth but its actually kind of sad too.

Poor sick baby :o(

Harrison has a bad cold and an ear infection........it is so sad to see him unhappy and in pain!
I caught a cold -I am guessing from the sniffle sniffle lady who served me at Kroger, even though I slathered myself in hand sanitiser the minute I got in the car, anyway I digress- over the weekend and I managed to give it to Harrison. After lots of sniffles, a fever, grumpiness and ear pulling off to the Doctor we went today. And now he is on antibiotics and sleeping (and snoring!). I hope he feels better soon.
Oh and he is also getting one of those other teeth just to make it worse!

2 of 4

Teeth that is.
The top 2 teeth have now broken through the gums, so we are now working on the 2 either side. How long does it take or a baby to get all 20 teeth i wonder?
Too long.

Every days a school day

It seems like every day Harrison learns something new! Yesterday he put his foot in his mouth for the first time, i took a video of it but it came out too dark so you will have to wait till he does it again, which i am sure wont be long!

He is also siting really well with very little support, i cant wait till he can sit all by himself. He is grabbing and reaching out to things now too, and tries to put anything he can in his mouth.

Here is a photo of him sitting on my lap.

And another of him with his BFF. This is a 6-9 month outfit he is now wearing!
