A (foggy!) day at the beach.

Living in Ohio Harrison has never been to the beach.This makes me sad, seeing as I spent almost my whole life living within 2 miles from the English channel! So, despite the weather, off we went for a walk along the beach!

As you'll see Harrison loved it! Running, climbing and digging.

A visit with Great-Gram

Marathon Matt

We went to North and South Carolina with Grammy and Pooh-Bah in December. Matt wanted to run his 11th full Marathon (hes crazy) and we wanted to go visit Great-Grandma (Gram) for the first time! She hadn't met Harrison before (Only in utero) so it was way past due!

We flew into NC on Friday, Harrison was an absolute star on the plane, especially seeing as we got him up at like 5 am! Matt ran the Marathon on Saturday, he did so well despite the unusually cold weather and hilly course! Congrats Matt- Your awesome :O)

(I'm updating the blog from way back, so you'll be bombarded with lots of fun, but old news :)

Wall-E

One of the first Movies Harrison ever saw as a new born was Wall-E. Watching movies with a tiny baby is easy! They sleep or eat through it.

Now, seeing a movie with a Toddler is a whole different story :)

So we were very surprised when Matt brought home the DVD Wall-E and Harrison pretty much sat through the whole film! He loves it, and likes to say ooops (or Oooop) a lot! He points out many of the things in the film, like the bug, the clocks etc. He can also say Earth, Moon and Sun now too!

I wonder if there are any other films that would have this same appeal?

18 Month check.

Harrison had his 18 month well check at the doctors yesterday.

Hes such a big boy now! His net appointment is for when he is 2 years old!

His stats are:

Weight: 26lb15oz (75%)

Height 361/4 inches: (Greater than 97%)

Head: 48.2cm (70%)

So we are now off the charts for height!

This kid is going to be taller than me by the time he is 10!

He is doing really well and very vocal, but we are definitely going to have to set some ground rules with discipline. I didn't realize how hard it was to give in to tantrums or cuteness for an easier life! All Harrison has to do is say "Please" ("Peeeeeas") or "Thankyou" ("Daddooo") and I melt.

We had had a lot of sickness in this house recently.
As a result our dress sense is sometimes a little, shall we say, individual?

The last days of fall.

We had such a beautiful November here in Ohio. We spent lots of days playing outside, but now we are ready, if not happy, to hide away for winter.

Christmas is coming

Harrison helped decorate the Christmas tree this year. He hung his first and second Christmas ornaments.

He loves the tree, he says Teee Teee Teee every time he sees it, ad we have to go and play with everything hanging on it.

He likes to tell you all about the ornaments and can name the balls, bells, Guinness ornament, Santa, Guitar, Bear, lights the number Two, the train, car and many more!

Bunny.

So we found another bunny.

Harrison knows its not his bunny, other than the blue tag on the front its the same. But its clean and doesn't smell.

Any ideas on how to turn a nice fluffy clean bunny into a smelly old dirty one so Harrison will love it?

Cheeky Pants.

Due to a bout of nappy rash Harrison spent a day or two in big boy pants

(that's English pants as in Underpants!)

He will hate me for his when he is older but how cute is this?

And those are Fisk legs if I ever saw them :)

3 Whole Years!

It was Matt and my 3rd wedding Anniversary this week, how time has flown!

I have to say we are happier than ever :O)

Here are the flowers Matt brought me.

Harrison pooped on the potty!

Yay! We haven't been potty training, but because I have been ill with a bad cold I have been unable to detect poop smell coming from any direction! So yesterday Harrison must have sat in his poop for a while, because he was very sore and very red :( Bad mummy!

Because of this we had bare bum time today, and I sat Harrison on the potty after lunch, the big toilet with a potty seat on it. And he pooped! I said poop on the potty, and he did, I am so proud bless him. Now when I thought he was done we got him up and he squatted and pooped and peed on the floor he he he. But never mind that, it was still easier to clean up than a poopy nappy and a sore bum!

I have been thinking about starting potty training about now, he will be 18 months at Christmas so I thought we would try for a week and see how ready he is. This makes me think he is more ready than i thought, but potty training is such a process I totally get why people wait so long.

17 Months.

Harrison turned 17 months today. He's almost a year and a half old!

He said his first "sentence" yesterday. Or at least two words together

anyway....and what did he say you ask!?

"Hot tea!"

Cute and oh so English!

Harrisons getting his pointy teeth right now and has not been sleeping

or napping as well as usual. We have been doing lots if snuggling on

the couch.

I always thought I wanted another girl, but I couldn't be happier, Harrison is such a joy and brings us so much love and delight its hard to want anything other than more of the same :0)

Harrison is going to have so much fun as a big brother.

He has a different head shape to Harrison even at this early stage.

This is the legs bent at the knee with the bum on the left and the foot tucked underneath.

This is the scary one with the face straight on. I always think they look like a ghost when they do this because you just see eye sockets!

Oh and it may look bigger than the real deal because the umbilical cord is poking out right above the boy bits.

There are some more pics but the just get more obscure, like bones and stuff!

The Doctor said baby Blake looks GREAT! He was 14oz and everything looked just as it should.

They check for lots of things at this point in the pregnancy, cleft lip and palette, count fingers and toes, they listen to the heart and check all 4 chambers for blood flow. They also look at the brain development, lungs, kidneys, stomach bladder the works!

In fact our doctor was such a pro he showed us baby's epiglottis and thyroid! Imagine how tiny an epiglottis is on a 14oz baby!

Somebody turned us into vampires!

Is that a Banana in your pocket?

Aaaaaah yes it is!

It was Dublin Trick or Treat last night, so we took Harrison out as a little monkey. He loved his costume! And all the neighbors loved him :)

Harrison spent most of the night running around smiling and looking cute, and playing with the leaves. Also he decided everyone needed leaves and so he began to hand them out to anyone who wuld take them.

He ate a little chocolate, but I think Matt did better!

No is the new Yes!

I knew it was too good to be true! The word No or more accurately "NO!" is getting a little overused around here, and not by me! Well mostly not by me :)

While I'm talking about words, we have a whole new repertoire which I shan't bore you with. But on the new list of words are some very impressive long ones! Lawnmower (Mormoer) and Broccoli- (Bocli) to main two. He must be somewhere near 80 words or more now, I am expecting his first two word sentence sometime soon!

Harrison's favorite things to play with right now are trucks and tractors, and pushing around his lawnmower all day! He is also getting very good at puzzles, stacking and shape sorting, but needs a little help.
