Harrison turns 3!

The birthday boy has had a busy birthday!
I can not believe he is 3, he is such a boy. A sweet, intelligent, beautiful boy :)

We got him a Cars 2 bike for his Birthday!

He crashed 3 times for first ride, but since then has been doing great. He even rode himself to the park.
We got him a birthday cake, which Allister enjoyed immensely.

And Harrison had no trouble at all with the candles this year!

He opened a couple of gifts, but we are saving most of them to his birthday party.

After summer school (where he had more cupcakes!) we went to Chuckee Cheese for pizza and games.

It was a super fun third birthday, and we still have his party to go. Wouldn't it be fun to be 3 again? Happy birthday sweet boy.

Doctors well checks.

Harrison and Allister went to the doctors today for their well check ups. Harrison's 3 year, and Allister's 15 month.

They are both doing great! Doing everything they should, and some things they shouldn't ;)

Harrison:
Height 40" (3ft4") Greater than 97th percentile- I had him at home at 41" and he was tilting his head a little today at the docs, so he may be in between.
Weight 40.4lb 95th Percentile.
Blood pressure 76/46 which is the first time he has had this taken!

BMI was fine, he is the average size of a 4 year old, the doctor said they have a saying 4 year old and 40 inches. No wonder I get looks when I say he is 2, although I cant say that much older so I will lose the shock value lol ;)
Harrison has been doing summer school a few days, he loves it! Its so much fun for him. This week they have been playing zoo's, each kid has a pretend zoo map, and they made their own binoculars -or noculas as Harrison says. He came home and rummaged around for a map, and proceeded to hunt the house height and low for animals! So cute :) He is so into make believe right now, he will make up stories and tell you them at night time. They sound allot like the ones we tell him. He is the youngest in his summer camp class, but the tallest. They put him in a class with older kids because of several reasons. He is so big that when he roughhouses with the boys he tends to be a little too rough because he is so much bigger than them! Also because he is potty trained its better for him to be in a class where they all go potty, not just him and the little guys!
I feel like he is much better suited to the older kiddies, he seems to have a lot more in common with them.

Allister also did great on his check!

Height 32 1/2" 85 percentile
weight 26.6lb 80th percentile.

He is exactly the same weight Harrison was at 15months old, but a tiny bit shorter.
He is doing great, using his words and signs! He's is walking well and adorable- Her words not mine :)

Allister is 15 months!

It's been a while since I did an update on the little guy.
So heres what he is up to lately....

He is very vocal and loves to exercise those vocal chords, with screams and giggles.
He uses the following new words, signs and sounds.

Yes and shakes his head very obviously! So cute :)
Signs more
Signs all done
Signs potty
Signs wash
Signs more and says more
Says...
Dadeeeeee
Oink oink- Sounds more like some weird animal but thats what it means!
Cat
Shoe or shhhhh
This- Dis
That Dat

I think thats it? He says Dis and Dat pretty much all day log! He will point and say "Dat" and nod his head yes. Its very cute :)

He loves to sing! And dance too, ill have to get it on video.

Harrison and Allister love to play now, they will chase each other around and have a lot of fun. Its so fun to watch.

Allister doesn't love the water as much as Harrison, we have been to the pool and fountain a few times and he enjoys it, but theres not so much sheer excitement!

He is such a big helper! I didn't realize the power of a helping toddler when I had Harrison, so I never really got him to help out. Because of this he only started to help with things more recently. Allister, however, will fetch his diaper and wipes when he needs changing, and put his dirty one in the trash. He understands so much now! I love it :)

Allister has his 15 month well check tomorrow, along with Harrison's 3 year check, so I will post an update then!

Bunnies on the mountain

Ok, so they are hares. Or jackrabbits, depending on your nationality. And that mountain? More of a hill, i even think mound is more accurate!
But Harrison was insistent on going up the mountain to the bunnies.....this is behind our local spray park and it's lots of fun!

Boys

The big(ger) boys in our street are so sweet to play with Harrison! He loves to chase them and they all seem to have fun. There's around 15 boys in our street as the one behind so it will be a lot of fun for Harrison and Allister once they are older.

The view from here...

Is pretty Awesome today.
82f/28c low humidity, a nice breeze. The sky is blue, the kids are napping and I'm here. Trying not to feel guilty that the bathrooms need cleaning.
They will still need cleaning tomorrow and yet tomorrow the kids might jot nap, or the sky might not be so blue. So grab what you can today! :)

Prince Allister

Or is that princess ;)

Super cheese.

Harrison is really into super heroes right now- well as much as an almost 3 year old can be. Today he was eating a Mini BabyBel cheese, there little circles. He made this shape and announced "it's batman!!!"
I had no idea he even new who batman was!

A visit from uncle Gary, Charity and Mattais

We had a great last minute visit from Uncle Gary, Charity and Mattais recently. It was so much fun to see them, and they got to meet Allister for the first time!

We were not lucky with the weather, Ohio has been experiencing record rainfalls of late, floods and very bad weather. But we did manage to do some fun things and enjoy the one sunny day we had at the Zoo!

The only photo I have of Uncle Gary!

Another visit!

We were so lucky to have a visit from Great Great Uncle Jim recently!
The boys had so much fun with him, and Harrison especially was loving the attention.

As you can see everyone had a blast!
Thanks for coming Uncle Jim, we love you!

Allister playing jumping off the fire place, he sees Harrison do his thing, and thinks he can do it too! He jumped on Guinness over and over, and Guinness just laid there ignoring him.

Puzzles

Harrison has been learning to do real puzzles and is so proud of himself when he does a good job! He needs a little help, but he does great :)

Its been too long…..

Its been way too long since I posted a proper blog! So long in fact I don't know where to begin with all the catching up. So forgive me if this the next few posts are all jumbled!

We recently went to Cleveland so Matt could run the Marathon there. He’s been training pretty hard, and running with the Columbus Running Company, so he was hoping for a personal best.

Here they are at the start.

Waiting for the off!

The national anthem, I have no idea who the lady was who sung it but it was pretty awesome!

Harrison was in awe!

There they go :)

Daddy’s biggest fans.

I have no photos of the finish. We had some trouble getting to the right spot to watch Matt come in, so we ended up at the 25 mile mark and missed him over the finish line. We, of course, couldn't make it back on foot before him!

The marathon itself was definitely not the most scenic, and Cleveland itself is not a city we fell in love with!

The medal was awesome!

He came in at 2:44:21 and 15th (I believe) over all. Crazy good uh!

After the Marathon we went to the Natural History Museum, which was a lot of fun.

Harrison was scared of the dinosaurs!

We had a great weekend, and we are all very proud of Daddy Matt!

Creative.

Harrison made a car from sticklebacks this morning. He had zero help, I think it was such a good car! This is the first time he has been so creative all by himself!

Slide boy.

Saturday morning....

Jammies and cartoons.
Remember that?
For me it was Sport Billy, No. 73, The Smurfs, Wattoo Wattoo, and Renta Ghost! What child hood favorites did you watch on a Saturday morning?
