The climbing continues.......

Harrison climbing has become a bit of a problem! I turn my head for 1 minute and he has scaled another mountain lol.
So here is image 1, standing on his rocking chair which he now does several times a day.
I turn my back and....

He's on the armchair!

Then this weekend he does this.....

We gave in to the TV.

But only in moderation!
I bought Harrison a DVD, its a baby signs one that teaches them the signs they need to learn to potty train.
Its very cute and Harrison loves it, its only 20 minutes long.

We will see if he learns anything!

Our New Baby.

I thought it was time to get a new baby in the house as
my baby boy is so grown up!
And his one is so easy to take of.
Here is Harrison giving the baby a drink, which he loves to do.
The baby (which I haven't given a name) can drink and pee, but we haven't tried that yet!

Yellow Springs.

While Julie was here we went to a Town called Yellow Springs. Is near Dayton OH. Its a fun and funky little village with lots of character (especially for the US!) and is very hippy.
We had a lot of fun and happened to catch their 4th July parade as it was rained off the day before.

As Jules was behind the camera all day here's a photo of her and Harrison!
Sorry Jules!

Nights out!

We got to have lots of nights out while Auntie Jule was visiting. We caught up on a few movies and went out to dinner.
Here's us on one of our Date Nights.

Thank you Jules for babysitting!
It was so nice to have some alone time :-)
Jules and I also had a few nights out.
Here's me with my Cosmo at the start of our night.

Thankfully we dont have any photos from the end of our evening.......
Thanks to Christy for being our designated driver.

More teeth.

Just when I thought we had a teething break as the top 4 teeth have only just finished coming in, we have more teeth!
Harrison has had a few nights of disturbed sleep the last few days, waking up crying a few times but going back to sleep ok. I thought it was nightmares.
Well this morning I realized his molars are cutting through! I can feel the one on his top left so I guess were in for a few more troubled nights in the next few weeks as the rest break in.

Porcupine hair.

Bike Rides.

I got myself a new bike in Yellow Springs. I LOVE it! Its been around 15 years since I last remember riding a bike! Its an old reconditioned Giant, that's the brand not the size of the bike!

So Matt and I were on the hunt for a child seat or trailer.
We got talking to a neighbour and they happened to have a trailer they no longer used, so now its ours!
We went on our first family bike ride yesterday and it was a lot of fun. Harrison did well in his trailer, and seemed to enjoy it. Especially since it was past his bedtime, and an hour long!

We now need to find him a baby helmet, although I have done some research and they are not that necessary in a trailer, we will be getting one anyway.
Next on the list is a bike rack for the car!

My table.

I can now sit and play at my table without falling off! I can get on and off all by myself too.
I'm getting such a big boy.

Swing set!

Our kind neighbors gave us a swing set! Its a real hand-me down. We are the 3rd owner to enjoy it. It needs some work, we attached a new baby and adult swing. We will get a new slide, tarp, and a see-saw swing for it eventually.

The first job though is paint!

We put the water table underneath in the shade which is great. I can sit in the shade and watch Harrison play away.

I know Harrison, friends and future siblings will have many years of enjoyment from this!

One of our other neighbours gave us a slide, Harrison loves to climb up it and slide down over and over. We will use this until we get one to attach to the swing set, maybe we will use it in the basement during the winter?

We have a climber!

Harrison has been learning how to climb things. I am hoping it doesn't result in falls, so far so good! I caught him doing this the other day........

He LOVES his sit and spin (or spit and sin as we nickname it) he doesn't sit on it but stands and dances over and over. He loves the crazy music!

Elmo Cake Pops

For Harrison's birthday I made Elmo cake pops. They were a huge hit, even if I do say so myself ;-)

I got the idea from a blog I read by Bakerella. Its an awesome blog, go check it out! Her cake pops are inspiring, i love the Easter ones best.
Here's how Jules and I made them....
I started by baking a cake mix, any old cake mix will do. This is the cake mix I used.

Let the cake mix cool completely, or overnight like I did. Then break it all up into small crumbs in a large bowl, and mix in a can of Cream Cheese Frosting. you can use home made cake and frosting if you wish, but there's lots of hard work coming so the package ones are good enough. I didn't need the whole can of frosting as the cake was Super Moist. It wants to be moist enough to roll into a ball, but not sticky.

Here is how mine looked in the bowl (I had rolled most of it at this point)

Roll into quarter sized balls, and place on greaseproof/parchment paper.
I made over 60 balls, it goes a long way!

Melt some red Candy Melts, I did mine in the microwave. They are coloured chocolate chips that taste like those cheap chocolate mice you ate as a child. you can get white and dye them any colour, or purchase some already in a choice of colours.

Take a lolly stick and dip the end in the candy melts, then into each one of the cake pops.
Purchase shorter lolly sticks as they become top heavy!

Place in the freezer until firm enough to handle then remove a few at a time to decorate.
Dip the pops into a bowl of candy melts and tap gently on the side to remove excess. Its a little tricky at first to get them the right round shape, but after about 30 you get the hang of It.
Then using a dab of candy melts as glue stick on white M&Ms as eyes.

And orange M&Ms and noses.

Dye some Candy Melts black and paint on eye balls and mouths in an array of shapes.
This the fun part! We used a cocktail stick but a little paint brush would work too.

Or you can buy an edible ink pen which may be easier.

Here's how they turned out!

I liked the pink insides. They are super sweet and super tasty!

Here's lots of photos of Jules and my hard work!

Oh and we stuck them in a polystyrene/Styrofoam block to dry and then also to display, we covered it in red paper.

Words.

Harrison is doing very well with learning new words. He will sometimes repeat a new word and then I never hear it again!
Here are some of the words he has said lately.....

Bird
Hi
Apple
Banana
Fork
Out
Hair
Drink
Horse

A trip to the Zoo!

You know how much we like to make use of our Columbus Zoo membership!
Harrison and I took Auntie Jules to the Zoo during her stay.

Harrison has monkey reigns for big trips out..........
he wont hold anyone's hand, and so they stop many a tantrum!

Auntie Jules likes the Vampire bats because they remind her of Twilight and Edward ;-)

Manatees, Always a big favorite.

As Zoo members we got to enjoy a free show. It was awesome and Harrison loved it. It included dogs, cats, geese, birds, rats, porcupines and pigs. I'm sure there was other animals too.
