Allister's haircut :)

Allister walking.

Allister is taking more and more steps every day.
The only trouble is he will only take them when he chooses to, there's no coercing! So its been hard to take any video. There's a few small steps (I counted 6!) at the end of this :)

Baby Steps.

Allister walks quite a bit now! He can only manage 4 or 5 steps at a time, but he does it all day long!
He is such a brave little guy, he will go for it then fall down, then do it all over again!
I'm excited for him to walk, especially with summer coming!

I'll try and get some video soon.

Teeth!

Allister now has a total of 8 teeth! He got 4 this last week, and is now working on his 2 incisors. They are right there ready to burst through, and they are very painful! So nobody got much sleep last night till the Tylenol kicked in.
Let shop they are done today!

Lots of little blogs lately, I'm a busy bee :)

Two step.

Allister just took two steps :)
He's only taken the odd one before, he's getting braver and I guess will be waking by his birthday, at least a little bit.

11 months!

Allister was 11 months old yesterday. Only a month till my baby turns one, it's so bitter sweet. I'm so excited to see him reach this milestone, yet I won't have a baby any longer.
Granddad also turned 64! Happy birthday!
We haven't decided what we will be doing for Allister birthday party just yet, since Daddy Matt turns 30 (he's catching me up!) on the 11th march we may do something as a joint affair. Although Matt said he doesn't want to do anything big, so we will see! We will decide If we have a party the weekend before or after the 9th ASAP and let you all know! If you want to cant and can't make a certain day be sure to let me know!

Teeth.

Allister is getting a ton of teeth right now!
I am happy to say (Knock on wood) he is handling it pretty well, especially compared to the last lot!
He just had 2 top teeth break through adjacent to his middle ones. And one bottom. I see his incisors too, I feel like he is getting all the rest in one fail swoop.
Which is fine by me!
Bring on the toothy grin :)

Toddler OCD.

I have always been told Toddlers, especially two-year-olds, have OCD.
They like things just so.
In order, neat, tidy.
They like to do EVERYTHING themselves.
Well, Harrison has just never been like that, he was a chaos boy.
Chaos with a capital C.
All of a sudden things have changed, he has to do everything himself.
And likes everything just so.
You cant undress him, fetch anything for him, close a door even, without him demanding he does it! Because, of course, only HE knows how to do it right.
And if you should even DARE to close that door, let the tantrum begin!
Because of course only HE knows how to close a door just so.
You cant undress him, put something in the trash, or anything right now.
Its pretty funny.

Walk this way.....

Great Granddad Fisk got Allister this super cute Elephant walker as an early Birthday gift.
Allister will finally walk while holding on to it.

Allister has taken some very little baby steps on his own, but only one or two, he is a mountaineer but wont yet walk. I think this walker will help him develop some confidence though!

Ice Storm 2010

There was a massive storm across the USA this last week. Some places were due 20 or more inches of snow, we just got ice. Freezing rain is probably something I had never heard of till I moved to the States. Its either, snow, rain or Hail right?
Well no, freezing rain falls as rain, and then lands as ice as soon as it touches something. Your car, the road, house, trees, everything. I have no idea why it doesn't fall as ice, but there you go!
Anyhow.....
It lands on trees and power lines, and gets so heavy they can snap, but its very pretty!
We were lucky enough to escape a power out, but many people in Ohio (150k I think) did lose power.
Here are some photos and a little video.

In the photo below everything looks shiny and wet, its not wet its Ice!
Yes that's the road that's shiny with 1/2 inch of ice.
And those tree branches are pretty much touching the ground, they are normally 7ft off the ground. That's a guess, but we can walk under those branches I know that!
