Allister's first bottle.

I finally pumped some breast milk so we could give Allister a bottle. I was hoping we hadn't left it too late, there's many a breastfed baby who wont take a bottle! But he downed it like a champ, so now i'm free to leave Daddy with his boys all day!

6 weeks old :)

Where did the last 6 weeks go! Allister is 6 weeks old today. He's
such a good baby, i seriously can't believe how good he is (touches wood).
He sleeps all night just waking to feed and most of the day still. He
is alert a couple of times a day, only about an hour each time.

Daddy managed to get him to laugh a couple of times last week, he
likes to dance apparently. He only smiles for me in his sleep.

He rarely cries (touches wood again!) and will put himself to sleep at
night after his feed. We have had zero accounts of rocking and pacing
and walking to calm a cranky baby, yes zero. And we thought Harrison
was good! Everyone said you only get one good baby, I guess we lucked out :0)

He still has all his dark hair, and is almost out of 0-3 month
clothes, separates still fit but anything with feet or poppers is just about done.

Harrison is starting to realize Allister is for keeps. He is a little
more jealous, trying to force hugs on me when I nurse. He's also been
a little more demanding and has had a few tantrums, but I guess that's
to be expected at this age anyhow. He will now kiss and hug his baby
brother, and for the most part is an absolute angel. He's learning to
wait and except boundaries too, like not running off at the park.

I'm finding being a mum of 2 relatively easy so far. I have learned to
re-prioritize things. Laundry and cleaning can wait, my boys care more
about having some fun than a clean house. Not that the house doesn't
get clean, it's just not as clean as before!

Here's Allister on his 6 week birthday.

Little boy heaven

I went to the park with my boys this morning. They have started to
build a basketball court. Harrison would have stood here all day!

Milestones.

Allister is such a strong boy. He's already rolled over. He did it
last week, but I didn't mention it as I thought it was a fluke, then
he did it again today, twice! He doesn't like his tummy time, so i
guess that's motivation enough!
He also put himself to sleep last night for the first time, with no
nursing! I'm sure that won't happen again soon, he loves to nurse.

Allister's one month check up - He's a BIG boy!

We took Allister for his one month check up today.
He is HUGE!
Weight :- 12lb 61/2 oz (97th percentile)
Height:- 22 3/4 inches (90th percentile)
Head 36cm (70th percentile)

What a big boy! The doctor said he's like a 2 month old already, and don't I know it feeding him every 2 hours most of the day! Harrison was still only 12lb31/2 at 8 weeks, and an over an inch less tall, so his baby brother may end up bigger than him.
He got one shot, and is doing great with holding his head up and being alert. He has a bit of reflux, but we have chosen not to medicate him right now, if it gets worse we will, but right now he is doing OK with natural remedies.

Awake half the night........

Alsleep half the day :)

The park and zoo

We had some fun family days out over the Easter weekend. We found an awesome new park, and we went to the zoo. The zoo was SLAMMED busy, in fact we later found out it as a record breaking attendance that day, over 35,000 people!

Harrison has decided he doesn't like being in the stroller much now. I am so please we got the double stroller that converts into a sit and stand! He loves to ride standing in it, and we still have the seat for when he is tired.

Easter fun

We had a great time over Easter weekend.
We attempted to take some new family photos, some turned out nice.

I made the boys Easter Baskets.
As usual Harrison shook with excitement at his, I'll try and post the video later.

Grammy and Pooh-Bah did an Easter egg hunt, Harrison, Jeffrey and Gracy had a lot of fun!

Allister got to meet his great-Mimi.

We also went to the Cincinnati Reds opening game.

It was the first Reds game for Harrison and Allister, and they were both such good boys! We managed to stay the whole game and didn't have any tantrums, even though Harrison missed his nap. It was perfect weather and lots of fun, even though the Reds didn't win.

We even caught the opening day parade, which Harrison loved.

Such a fun few days.
