I took the boys to a proper hairdresser to get their haircuts. They look so grown up and super cute!

The boys spontaneously started a sack race with their pillow cases the other day.

Allister decide he wanted to wear Harrison's Darth Vader robe, and wore it almost all day. Including playing outside! He looked very cute :)

Remember this?

That was me 8 months pregnant with Harrison in May 2008. Swollen and very VERY big! I went to support Matt while he ran the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon.

Never in a million years did I think that I too would be running, just 4 years later.

But I did it!

It all started in a whim. About 6 months or so ago. Some ladies who I knew only from an online chat room told me they were running the pig. Being new to running I was all interested, then they said "hay you could do it too! ". It all started out as a bit of a joke. But as I got more and more into running it started to seem doable. The turning point was when I could comfortably run 6 miles in 60 minutes and not feel like I'd died. So what the hell, I thought. I'll do it!

And so I trained, and ran my first half marathon.

I met up with Tammy and we hit it off. She ran slower than her usual pace to keep me company the whole way. Along with Matt, who, due to an injury also ran with us.

Who knew that a race could be that much fun? And there was not one point I walked, even the hills I ran. Although the water stations were kind of crowded so you had to walk a little.

My results. Pretty good for a first I think! I actually ended up running 10 minute miles, because due to the crowds and not running tangents you run a lot further than 13.1 miles. I think I ran like 13.35 or something.

I can't wait to do it all again! The Pig was the perfect first half Marathon. There was crowd support the whole way, the goodies are awesome, the weather was great. The hills were not.

I think I got the bug.

Hope to see another half marathon from me in the fall :)

 

Harrison's second visit to the dentist.

Harrison did great at the dentist today!

He was a little nervous, and struggled a little in the beginning. But we managed to get a full and thorough clean and check!

I'm so proud of him :)

The dentist "counted" his teeth to check for cavities, he had none!

Then they brushed, polished and flossed his teeth.

They even managed to get his fluoride treatment on without a fuss. They said we are doing a good job with brushing- which were not lol. We just do what we can, 3 year olds are hard to brush! But I figure anything we can do is good, right? Although I just got The boys spin brushes and they are much more interested in brushing now!

Family Movie Night.

Today, for the first time, we went to a movie as a family! It was Allister first time, and we had a blast!

We went to see a new movie called The Pirates! Band of Misfits.

It's a Wallace and Gromit type movie, very English.

It wasn't very long, so it was a good choice for his first movie, seeing as he's only just 2.

He sat through the whole movie, popcorn and toy in hand. not once did he getup from his seat. He did say "all done" about 20 minutes from the end, but still watched in awe.

The fun part about the boys growing up is we can do many more things like this :)

Happy Easter Everyone!

We had a relaxed easy going Easter this year. We decided toms tart a new tradition of a picnic! And what a good idea that was :)

But first, we made Easter eggs the week before Easter. Well Easter egg animals! I think I had more fun than everyone else.....

Easter morning the boys woke to find Easter baskets. Very Star Wars as is everything right now.

We met at Ceasers Creek, a park between cincinnati and Columbus.

After our picnic near the "slide of death" we flew a kite! A Star Wars one no less.

This is the first time I've ever flown a kite, not that I actualy flew it, but anyhow. Well that is if you don't count the failed attempt Matt and I made last summer.

The boys loved it :)

Afterwards we had an Easter Egg hunt, this has to be the kids favorite part of Easter.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Holidays get more and more fun now the boys are growing older!
