Such a big boy now :)

Harrison is 20 months old today! He is such a toddler now, hardly a baby at all. Although he'll always be my baby.
The differences in Harrison now compared to just 2 months ago are amazing.
His vocabulary is massive, he understands pretty much anything you say and can repeat it too. Now is the time to watch what you say around him, he repeated a bad word the other day, and I didn't say it! He is saying more and more sentences each day. Mostly 2 words together and then a few 3 and 4 word sentences too. His favorites are - too hot, too big, cook it, watch Thomas, oops oh no, daddies ---, mummy's ---, and anything to do with cars planes and trains!
He is also displaying some behaviors of the terrible twos. Little tantrums here and there and some very unpleasant screaming! There's frustration too when something doesn't work as it should, it's cute to see his little personality develop more and more.
I only have a few short weeks to enjoy Harrison as an only child. Soon there will be a baby brother to tend to. What a mixed blessing that will be in the initial days. I'm sure Harrison will not enjoy every ones lack of attention, and i will be sad to have to share my time between two boys and not be able to focus on only Harrison of baby brother.
However I know that this is the best gift I can give to my first born, a brother to share the joys of childhood with. To play with, fight with, to hug and love, to take the blame or confide with. Siblings truly are a blessing and my hope Is that Harrison and his baby brother love, confide and laugh together as much as I do with my siblings.

Looks like Baby Brother will be making an early appearance!

Today I had my ultrasound to see how baby brother is growing
and how big he is.
Hes BIG!
They estimated him at 7lb14oz, i still have 5 weeks to go.
I know these ultrasounds can be off, by about 1lb, and they tend to overestimate rather than under estimate. But even at 6lb14oz hes already as big as Harrison was when I delivered.
If I delivered on my due date he can be expected to be an additional 2 1/2lb bigger by then, it could be more due to my GD.
Want to see some cute pics of baby brother?

His profile, see the white fuzz on his head, that's hair.
And the bubble by his mouth is the umbilical cord.
Below is a 3d photo of his face, its not that clear as its hard to get a good picture when your this pregnant! He also has his head down in my, erm, pelvis.

He has the Fisk nose already :)
If you cant make out his features, then i have them detailed below.
Half his face is in shadow.

And this is me and my huge belly.

Looks comfy huh!

So because of babies size my doctor is recommended we induce a week or two early. I would rather not be induced but i don't want a 10lb baby either. I'm trying to think of the positives, it will make everything so much easier to plan! And Auntie Julie gets to schedule her flight around the whole birth.
I got all the newborn and 0-3 month baby clothes out of the basement, but i don't think we will be needing the newborn stuff! I also don't have anything warm for this baby, every item of clothing is shorts or short sleeved, so we will be going shopping for baby clothes. I never got to buy baby clothes for Harrison as we got so many wonderful gifts, so it will be fun to shop!
We also still need a double stroller, bouncy chair and a few other small things.
I'm so glad we got the nursery done! I just need to get all the stuff out of the basement and get it washed and put away, it could be 3 weeks away!

Snow

We had about 10 inches of snow over the weekend.
Now we are in the middle of another snow storm!
I can tell I'm used to it now as it not really exciting for me anymore, but it does look pretty.

Fancy a nap on the Hammock?

Our new masterpieces.

During our weekend of painting we hung some wonderful new paintings.
The first two custom made for the dining room, the left one is Alfriston in England, one of my favorite villages. The right one is near Yellow Springs, one of our favorite places to visit near us.

This is the hall newly painted. The painting on the right is the one below....

This is a painting of the Seven Sisters. A wonderful wonderful place near my home in England.
Its so wonderful to see little glimpses of home every time i walk through the house.
Now i just need to go visit!
Thanks Grammy :)

Thomas 'ooom

We had a busy weekend!
Grammy and Pooh-bah came to help us with some decorating. We did baby brothers nursery, the hall and stairs and moved lots of furniture! Everything looks awesome. The nursery photos will be posted once the furniture is in place.
We finally decided it was time to move Harrison to a big boy bed. We have been going back and forth for a very long time. We just couldn't decide if we should move him now, or when baby brother arrived. The only reason we were hesitant was because Harrison was so happy in his crib, he would sit there and play for 30 minutes or more before or after bed and that time is his only down time as he is such an active boy, i didn't want to lose that time!
In the end we decided it would be easier to spend the time on it now, than with a new born or young baby to attend to as well. Thankfully it looks like we made the right decision!
Here is Harrison's new bedroom, which Harrison calls his "Thomas 'ooom"!

This is Matt's old bed from when he was a boy.
Its all Thomas-fied!

He has a great bed rail with places for books and a night light and cup holder.
We still need a valance/bed skirt and to move some furniture around. But the bed looks awesome. We also put Thomas decals on the walls and Harrison is so excited about them!

So here is how the transition went....

When Harrison first went into his new room for nap time, he went crazy! He was shaking from head to toe with excitement at all the Thomas things. It was so cute. He ran up and down his bed and was touching all the Thomas stuff. Needless to say he was too excited to nap. It didn't help that Grammy and Pooh-bah where still here and he didn't want to miss a minute of their company!

When we took Harrison up to bed later that night, again he was very excited! We read him his story, put him in bed and left the room. About a whole 2 seconds later he was up and out of his bed trying the door. About two minutes later he was opening the door. We tried the back to bed technique over and over but found it became too much of a game, as soon as he was back in his bed and we had closed the door he would jump right out and open the door again laughing with his cheeky little face! So we put a childproof cover on his door handle and he soon gave up and went to sleep after playing on the floor with his books. I guess it took about an hour and a half, but he was happy the whole time and it was stress free.

In the morning he slept in till his normal time and played in his room with his books.

Since then hes been doing awesome! He's been taking longer to get to sleep as hes been playing with his books, but other than that there is no difference. In fact today he was so tired, he climbed up on his bed and didn't even want a nap time story, he went straight to sleep!
